mental illness

I received a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from UMass Global and a Bachelor’s Degree in French from University of California, Berkeley. I have 15 years of experience as a psychiatric RN, working with individuals with mental illness diagnoses in an inpatient hospital environment. I have a strong interest in working with individuals of all ages, couples and families.

As a therapist coming from a career as a psychiatric RN, I am aware that people come to therapy for many different reasons: problem solving, mood difficulties, behavior change, communication and relationship issues, creative exploration, soul searching. I hope to provide support to any individual, couple or family group that is seeking to discuss individual and relational challenges.

My personal interests and activities are strongly connected with my work as a therapist. I understand that the mind-body connection is something not to be ignored, and I try my best to practice mindfulness and physical movement regularly; and to apply myself to both creative and intellectual pursuits.

Fun Fact about me: I once was part of a traveling theater group, playing 7 characters in 2 different plays on the same day.
