Jason earned his Masters in Community Mental Health from the California Institute of Integral Studies(CIIS) in San Francisco and his Bachelor's in Organizational Behavior from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Though he has experience with a wide range of client ages and identities he most enjoys helping people through major transitions, isolation, understanding identity, and finding purpose. His therapy approach combines standard talk therapy with art, play, humor, and existential aspects while taking into account how our environment affects our well-being.
He is passionate about social justice, marginalized populations, and men and boys mental health challenges can be explored and relationships can grow stronger. At the heart of my work is a deep belief that even in suffering, there is the possibility of finding meaning — and that meaning can become a powerful source of healing and resilience.
In his spare time Jason enjoys board games, miniature painting, and live entertainment - comedy, music, theater, etc. Having grown up on the beaches of Hawaii, much of his spare moments is spent daydreaming of the ocean.
Fun Fact about me: My first passion was (and still is) marine mammal conservation and environmental sciences. I've previously worked at the Boston Zoo and and an endangered species organization which has filled me with nearly unlimited animal factoids of every kind. I'm currently obsessed with why orcas are messing around with yachts.
