6 Expert Parenting Tips to Build a Stronger Bond with Your Child

I attended California State University East Bay for my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies and Human Development. I attended University of San Francisco for my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology.

I'm a former educator and school counselor with a background in early childhood education. I initially planned to become a teacher or a social worker, but after completing my bachelor's degree, I felt called to school counseling. While earning my Master’s degree and PPS credential at the University of San Francisco, I also completed additional coursework toward LPCC licensure. I spent seven years working as a school counselor, including during the pandemic. Over time, I realized I wanted to move away from academic counseling and focus more deeply on supporting individuals’ mental health and emotional well-being.

I take a person-centered, trauma-informed approach. Depending on the client, I can often integrate modalities such as CBT, DBT, solution-focused, and strength-based. I've been practicing art therapy techniques and Internal Family Symptoms (IFS) since being at Izzo. What draws me most to this work is the power of human connection and the resilience people show even in the most challenging circumstances. I became a therapist because I feel passionate about supporting others through times of transition, growth, or healing. While I enjoy working with clients of all ages, I’m especially passionate about supporting women as they navigate the next phase of life, process grief, or heal from experiences of domestic violence and sexual assault. I also work closely with adolescents facing challenges like depression and anxiety, helping them build emotional resilience and a stronger sense of self.

I received the following continuing education units:

Certified - California Law and Ethics for Behavioral Health Professionals

Certified - Trauma & Grief Dual Certification Course: Expert Treatment of Loss, Acute and Complex Trauma, and Co-Occurring Issues
