As a therapist, my mission is to create a space for clients to feel empowered and supported in addressing the struggles they face in life. I hold the belief that every person that walks through that door already has the internal resilience, skills, and knowledge on what they need, but may have trouble accessing this within themselves — and the therapeutic process can help clients to access, develop, and refine those intrinsic abilities.
I Graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, and received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in experiential marketing and product development. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as my primary approach, working with clients to develop internal resilience, develop new and effective coping skills, and empower them to move towards what they want in life. I also draw from other evidence based approaches like CBT, DBT, Narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Play Therapy.
My personal style has been described as warm, engaged, direct, and at-times humorous (humor can be healing!). I have extensive experience in working with teens and young adults, and I believe strongly that working to develop effective tools to manage life’s challenges at a young age can help to prevent severe distress as one grows up. I have worked with clients on a wide range of topics, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, substance abuse, grief, and life transitions.
Outside of the therapy room, I have a strong passion for physical fitness, and have been an avid powerlifter for 6 years. I also find crafting projects - crochet and cross stitching, in particular - to be one of the most grounding activities for myself. When I’m not in the gym or the craft section, I can typically be found in the woods hiking and reconnecting with nature!
