I began my career as an elementary school teacher and later taught middle school English Literature, experiences that deepened my understanding of children’s social-emotional needs and inspired my transition into counseling. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Palo Alto University.
I work well with children, teens, and families going through challenges such as anxiety, depression, school stress, identity development, and the impact of chronic illness or grief. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help kids recognize and challenge unhelpful thoughts and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help them connect to their values and take steps toward goals even when big feelings arise. Play-based and creative modalities are central to my work with younger clients, helping them feel safe and understood.
In my spare time, I love to explore the outdoors, travel, and spend time trying new restaurants with family and friends. I find joy in music so you'll often find me singing and poorly playing the guitar. I also enjoy reading novels, cooking, and savoring that first sip of coffee in the morning!
Fun Fact about me: I grew up in a town of a whopping 440 people!
